Important Contribution Of BSF And Indian Army To India's Security

When it comes to the security of Indian Territory, these two name comes first to mind, the Indian Army and the BSF. But there is a big difference between these two forces. Today we will talk about the real distinction between BSF and Indian Army. Two types of security forces have been deployed mainly to protect our country. One is Indian Arm Force in which Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard have been included. And another security team comes under the Ministry of Defense. It is also called the Central Armed Police Force, which means Paramilitary Force. In which Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and National Security Guard (NSG) are included. Indian Army, which is part of Indian Arm Force. And the other is BSF, which is part of the Indian Paramilitary Force. The existence of the Indian Army was already present. But the establishment of BSF was done on December 1, 1965. BSF is also known as Border Security Force. It is made under the Ministry of Home Affairs. There were so many reasons behind the formation of the BSF. The first reason, when the Pakistan army entered India, then there was no border security force in India at that time. Later Indian Army resisted. But this kind of incident should not happen again in the future, so the BSF was created to cover the entire Indian border. The second reason, when the BSF is protecting the Indian border, then the Indian army gets an opportunity to practice and conduct substantial warfare. And this paramilitary force also works to maintain balance before reaching the Indian Army’s war zone. BSF stops the enemy in the border before the strategic action taken by the Indian Army. The primary duty of BSF is to protect the 7410 km long border of India during the times of peace. And for this work they have 157 battalions. More than 200000 military, 5.56 mm INSAS rifle is in the number of millions and 51 mm mortar cannon is in the number of thousands. Has more than 10000-night vision devices. Apart from this, tank, fighter aircraft, helicopter, Israel-style long range telescope and patrol boat is with BSF. And with the help of all these types of equipment, BSF protects our borders. And when the situation of war arises, the army is deployed to the border by removing the BSF. And if necessary, the BSF works with the Indian Army to fight in the war.
