The Secret Of The Never-Filling Pitcher Of Sheetla Mata Temple
Many of you people in the temples must have seen a miracle. Many stories related to these miracles which you must have heard. One such miraculous temple is located in the Pali district of Rajasthan. And this miracle is repeated every year in this temple. Sheetla Mata Temple is an ancient temple and there is an ancient pitcher (ghda) in this temple also. And the depth of pitcher is nearly half feet and the breadth is almost the same. For the last 1000 years, this pitcher has been kept in this temple. And twice in the year, this pitcher is opened for devotees. Even after pouring thousands of liters of water into this pitcher, this pitcher never fills. Some people believe that the water that goes into this pitcher is consumed by the monsters. Even scientists do not have any information related to this pitcher. According to the villagers, this tradition has been running for the last 700-800 years. The stone placed above this pitcher is removed twice a year. For the first time on Sheetla Saptami and for the second time at Jyeshtha mah ki Poonam. Both days the village women pour thousands of liters of water into the pitcher. In the end, according to popular belief, the priest pours milk in the feet of the Mata. After pouring milk, the pitcher is filled. The fair is organized in the village for 2 days. Surprisingly, scientists have done many types of research on this pitcher. But they are still unable to know the secret of this pitcher. According to local people 800 years ago, Babara used to be a monster named. The people of the village were very upset by the terror of this monster. Whenever there was marriage in the house of the Brahmins, then Babara kill the girl’s husband. Then the people of the village worshipped Sheetla Mata and made them happy with their penance. Mata said when next time a girl gets married and then she will kill the monster. At the time of marriage, Mata took the form of a little girl. There the Mata ended the life of the monster from her knees. Then Mata ended the life of the monster from her knees. Later, he asked for a boon to drink water twice a year from Mata. Mata gave her blessing to the monster. That is why water is poured twice a year in that pitcher.
